The story of how we set out to solve property management for East Africa.
The Problem We Saw
Property managers across East Africa were drowning in paperwork. Rent records in exercise books. Tenant complaints on sticky notes. Financial reports cobbled together in spreadsheets at month-end. Landlords calling every week asking "where's my money?" and getting vague answers.
The tools that existed were built for Western markets — priced in dollars, designed for different regulations, and ignorant of how property management actually works in Kampala, Nairobi, or Dar es Salaam.
What We Built
Aqar is property management software built in Africa, for Africa. It replaces the exercise books, the spreadsheets, and the phone calls with one clear system.

Lead Developer
Peter is an IT consultant and software developer with over 15 years of experience across more than 10 African countries and 6 industries. He has built and deployed software systems in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, DRC, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and the United Kingdom.
He is bilingual (English and French) and combines deep technical skill with real business consulting experience. He does not just write code — he understands the business problems the code needs to solve.
Peter is the lead developer behind three SaaS products: Maduuka (business management), Aqar (property management), and Longhorn ERP (enterprise resource planning).

Chwezi Core Systems Limited is the company behind Aqar. Based in Kampala, Uganda, Chwezi is an ICT consultancy firm specialising in custom software development, enterprise systems, business consulting, and security services. The company operates across East Africa and beyond.
